About Manong
At Manong, we celebrate the flavors, memories, and warmth of Filipino-American cooking through the lens of a nostalgic neighborhood grillhouse. Inspired by the energy of classic β90s sit-down restaurants, we blend comfort, playfulness, and tradition in a space designed to feel familiar the moment you walk in. From ihawan-style skewers and savory silog plates to blooming mushrooms, burgers on soft pandesal-style buns, and sweet finishes like ube ice cream, our menu brings together the dishes we grew up with and the comfort food weβve always loved.
Manong is one of the filipino restaurants listed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The business is registered at 1833 Fairmount Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19130; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip. Google also lists it under restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.
Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Philadelphia, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Pennsylvania run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 2 days a week. Typical hours are 8 AMβ2 PM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (445) 223-2141. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, manongphilly.com.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Philadelphia peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Great Filipino in fairmount. Apps, mains, and service all excellent. The steak and chicken inasal with garlic rice were delicious. Pork lumpia, and bloom shroom were fantastic as well. Really friendly service and solid prices. Highly recommend.

This was pretty good! I got the tocino and it was nothing crazy, I think we were supposed to have garlic rice but it seemed to be missing garlic and wasnβt super flavorful. It was a nice atmosphere for brunch. I liked the pickled vegetables. Dinner prices are a bit expensive

Verdict: Nothing special. Another Filipino-inspired restaurant lacking the true soul of Filipino food. Apps: Dynamite lumpia - this is definitely NOT dynamite lumoia. Totally misrepresented. Tasted ok Bloom Shroom - quite good but I donβt really know whatβs Filipino about this dish. Ensalada - it said it had Bangus green goddess as the dressing but could barely taste the bangus. Mains: Lechon - VERY dry and quite bland. The server and manager were kind enough to take this one off our bill. Bistek - steak was pretty decent. I donβt really get bistek flavor that much. Pork and beans - Pork chop was good and juicy but the mung beans were so undercooked. Overall, an ok experience. Do not come here if you are familiar with Filipino food and are looking for Filioino vibe or flavors.

Very relaxing spot. Came in after a nice stroll around the art museum for some brunch. Service was prompt and polite. Food was tasty and filling. Coffee was lovely. Highly recommend!

We tried their sharing tasting menu and it was perfect for our extended family with a mix of adults and kids. We had 5 starters and 8 main dishes plus ice cream selections for dessert. Everything was great. The beef steak main course was especially tasty. The table was too tiny for all the dishes, but we managed somehow.
